Enchantment seals

Pressing power into weapons and armour.

In short

Ink a seal at a crafting spot, tailoring bench or scribe desk, then press it into gear: 1 slot, 2 at excellent or masterwork, 3 at legendary. Inscribing needs ninjutsu D 1 up to S 16, and higher levels make the seal stronger.

Making and using seals
  • Seal items are inked at a crafting spot, tailoring bench or scribe desk. Higher ranks need more Crafting skill.
  • Use a seal and pick the gear. Inscribing needs a minimum ninjutsu level (D 1, C 4, B 8, A 12, S 16); every level above it makes the seal stronger.
  • Gear has 1 seal slot, 2 at excellent or masterwork, 3 at legendary. A new seal goes on at C rank at most, then rises one rank at a time.
  • Sealed weapons glow in the seal's colour and flash on every hit.
Scribe deskbuilding selected

Inscribe seal: choose a weapon or piece of apparel and a seal in stock. A sealer with enough ninjutsu fetches both, inscribes the seal here and gives worn gear back to its owner.

Queued: nothing

Select a scribe desk and press Inscribe seal...: pick a piece of gear on the left, then Apply a seal from stock on the right (hover a seal for the ninjutsu it needs or why it doesn't fit). The × closes the window.
What seals do
  • Weapon seals add elemental damage, stun, cripple, knock back, drain chakra, heal the wielder, frighten or confuse.
  • Armour seals give stats, resist damage types, hurt melee attackers or keep effects on the wearer.
  • The full seal list shows every seal and its ranks.
Equipment enhancing
  • The Equipment enhancing tree (Artisan) teaches extra seals: elemental resistances, Fearsome, Burning, Serrated Edge, Revitalizing and more. Only an artisan who knows the technique can make that seal.
Storing a technique
  • Jutsu Storing (armour), Jutsu Well and Jutsu Carrier (weapons) hold one technique. Use "Store technique" to pay its chakra now; later, "Release" gives the chakra back and readies the technique at once, so it can be cast for free.
Attachments and quivers
  • Red dot sights, scopes, stabilizers and pistol grips are fitted to ranged weapons like seals.
  • Quivers of special arrows are worn in the belt slot: broad-head, bullet-point, blunt, superheated, screaming, whistling, net, boreworm and tracer arrows. The quiver's effect works with every hit of the wearer's bow, crossbow or sling.
