Recommended mods
What NFRP World needs, and the optional mods it works with.
In short
Required: Harmony, Taran Magic Framework and World of Naruto, in that order. Recommended but optional: Giddy-Up, Stylish Dialogs, Show Me Your Hands, Yayo's Animation, Medieval Overhaul and CAI 5000. NFRP World works without them. Not compatible: ChezhouLib.
Required
Load them in this order, then NFRP World:
- Harmony
- Taran Magic Framework: the technique framework every tree is built on.
- World of Naruto: NFRP World adds to its clans, technique trees and ability window.
Recommended
None of these are needed. NFRP World notices them when they're loaded and works without them.
- Giddy-Up 2 (Continued): riding. With it, NFRP World's big beasts are mounts, riders on flying beasts get the Fly order, and the mounted arts (Bajutsu) work. Without it, creatures simply can't be ridden. See Mounts and flying.
- Stylish Dialogs: letters with a storyteller portrait and a reading layout. NFRP World's choice letters (choosing a ninja's first technique tree, envoys, clan requests, festivals) look and read much better with it; the choices themselves are the same.
- Show Me Your Hands: hands on weapons. NFRP World sets the hand positions for its weapons, and its technique hands (hand seals, palm strikes, throws) take Show Me Your Hands' hand colour and size, so pawns never show four hands.
- Yayo's Animation (Continued): body animation. When it's loaded, NFRP World's technique sequences use smaller body motion and leave melee lunges to it.
- Medieval Overhaul: NFRP World's woods are kept out of Medieval Overhaul's timber conversion, so its trees still give NFRP wood.
- CAI 5000 - Advanced AI + Fog Of War (continued): runs alongside NFRP World. Our Enemy ninja tactics setting only decides which techniques enemy ninja use and where they cast them.
- Ferny's Progression mods: not needed. NFRP World is developed and tested inside the Progression modpack and needs no extra setup there; with Progression loaded, Progression's research pacing also scales the ninja research costs, and a few ninja projects also ask for Progression's writing or advanced research bench projects.
Not compatible
- ChezhouLib (Workshop 3595247479, a library by 追踪虫): with it loaded, pawns are drawn with a see-through overlay, so their apparel looks translucent. Other players report it overriding other mods' clothing and breaking clothing textures on children. Mods that need it, such as Chezhou's Sandworm and Hivelord creatures, can't be used without it, so leave them off too. The Workshop page has since been taken down by Steam.
Load order
Harmony, Taran Magic Framework, World of Naruto, then NFRP World (Giddy-Up, if you use it, before NFRP World). Optional mods can load anywhere before or after; NFRP World looks for them by name.
