Chakra paper
A slip of
chakra paper shows which element a ninja's chakra leans to. The scribe desk makes two slips from 2 cloth, and scroll merchants, Venator and village traders sell them.
A slip of chakra paper reads a ninja's element from their genes and traits. A ninja with no element gets a fixed leaning (+5% Ninjutsu XP), which nature training at the chakra apparatus turns into a real, inherited element.
Use a slip on a colonist ("Test chakra nature with"). It reads their nature from what they already have: World of Naruto element genes (fire, water, wind, lightning, earth, ice, sand, wood), NFRP crystal and paper release, element specialist traits, NFRP element traits and the Ryuugan. A letter tells how the paper reacted: it burns to ash for fire, splits for wind, crinkles for lightning, crumbles for earth, turns damp for water, and so on, and names any second and third natures.
A pawn with no element at all still has a leaning: the paper picks one of the five basic natures, always the same one for that pawn, and they learn Ninjutsu a little faster (+5%) from then on. A leaning isn't an element yet: its trees stay closed until nature training at the chakra study apparatus makes it a real gene (40 sessions alone, about 14 with a sensei). Then its trees open and children can inherit it. See Becoming a ninja.
